Public Health Preparedness
The Public Health Preparedness program, part of the state of Idaho’s organized preparedness effort, is responsible for preparing and responding to outbreaks of infectious disease, a bioterrorism event, and manmade or natural disasters in southeast Idaho. Its day-to-day activities include establishing working emergency response plans with other area first responders, collaborating with state and federal response agencies, and educating area volunteers and communities to better prepare themselves in the event of an infectious disease outbreak.
