Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention
The goal of the Arthritis program is to increase awareness and knowledge of the importance of early diagnosis, appropriate treatment and self-management strategies among people with arthritis.
The Southeastern Idaho Asthma Coalition strives to raise the public's awareness about asthma prevention and ways to successfully manage and control the onsent of an asthma episode.
Comprehensive Cancer Control Program
The goal of Comprehensive Cancer Control Program is to network resources, increase and integrate activities in order to prevent and control cancer.
Informing the community about the risk factors associated with diabetes and the symptoms of diabetes. Also working to prevent the complications which often accompany diabetes including, amputations, heart attack, stroke, blindness, and kidney diseases.
Epidemiology & Communicable Disease Program
The Epidemiology & Communicable Disease programs provide confidential testing, investigation, treatment and education to individuals who are affected by or who have concerns about the nature of communicable disease.
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a non-profit program dedicated to helping girls stay out of the “girl box.”
Physical Activity & Nutrition Program
The program’s mission is to promote a culture of health and vigor by encouraging and enabling Idahoans to be physically active and make good food choices.
Preparing and responding to public health threats and emergencies from various sources.
Hand washing and respiratory etiquette are among some of the best ways to prevent the spread of any kind of flu and many other diseases.
Influenza (flu) is a serious disease of the nose, throat, and lungs. It can make you sick for a week or longer with coughing, fever, aching, and more. And it can lead to pneumonia.
SAFEKIDS Southeastern Idaho provides information to parents and children on many safety issues including bicycle safety and helmet use, home safety, scald and burn prevention, poison safety and prevention, and drowning and water safety. SAFEKIDS also provides classes on properly using and installing child safety seat and provides in Child Safety Seat checks.
Oral Health (Fluoride Varnish)
The radon awareness program services all of Southeastern Idaho. Residents may contact the health department for general radon information, radon testing kits, and mitigation service referrals.
The phosphorus slag program offers services to all of Southeastern Idaho. The referral program is designed to address basic phosphorus slag questions.
Providing support and information for people who are thinking about quitting smoking.
The means of delivery for elementary tobacco prevention presentations is through southeastern Idaho's youth based health behavior change coalitions. Through interactive teachings students have the opportunity to learn about the dangers and consequences of tobacco use.
Tobacco education is carried out in the community during promotional events held throughout the year (e.g., Smoke-free Bar/Grill Nights, Great American Smokeout Restaurant Sit-In, Counter-marketing speaking engagements, and Project Filter/Idaho Quitnet sponsored activities.
