Food Safety Training

Food Safety Exam - now available online

Idaho Food Code (2-102.11) requires that there be at least one “person in Charge” at all times a food establishment is preparing food or open for business. The person in charge is required to demonstrate knowledge of food safety, hazard analysis and requirements of the Idaho Food Code. There are different options available to meet this training requirement. One of the most effective and highly acclaimed ways is the “Food Class” offered by the Southeastern District Health Department. The course is about 3 hours in length and all pertinent information on food protection and safety is presented. At the end of the course, participants are required to take an exam and score 70% or better to pass. A wall certificate and a wallet size card are then issued to the participant approximately 2-3 weeks after the course. The cost of the course is $10 per person. We ask that you pre-pay and pre-register, as seating is limited. Below is a listing of locations, dates, and times for classes scheduled. Please contact the appropriate office to pre-register or to ask any questions. Refunds WILL NOT be offered should you decide not to attend.
