Medical Reserve Corps Annual Meeting and Preparedness Fair Options

Please mark your calendar and plan to attend the Medical Reserve Corps Annual Meeting from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on September 11th at the Southeastern District Health Department at 1901 Alvin Ricken Drive. The meeting will provide volunteers with a Point of Dispensing Refresher Course, information on the Volunteer Idaho Registry, and an update about H1N1 influenza. Anyone interested in becoming an MRC volunteer is welcome to attend! Please reserve your spot today by contacting Penny Nelson at 239-5295.

On the same afternoon (September 11th), the Southeastern District Health Department will host a Preparedness Fair to recognize National Preparedness Month.

Participants include:
- Chubbuck Fire Department
- Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security
- Idaho Power
- Intermountain Gas Company
- Health West
- National Weather Service
- Pocatello Police Department
- Portneuf Medical Center

Activites will include tours of the Southeastern District Health Department's Emergency Operations Center and the Bannock County Emergency Response Trailers, and attendees can get information on shelter-in-place during a hazardous materials spill, and flu-prevention related activites such as handwashing and how to care for family members with the flu.
